Who doesn’t want to read a list entitled “14 Scientifically Proven Ways To Make You A Happier Person” I know I did—so I read it, and it was great. What’s more, they’re not all about how to improve your happiness, but rather just happiness in general. Buzzfeed most certainly must know that our culture is borderline obsessed with self-improvement, and more specifically happiness. So they don’t have just one or two articles on happiness. Oh no, try like 10 or 15! Some of their most popular articles include:

The 30 happiest facts of all time

39 reasons to be happy every day for 100 days (referring to 100happydays challenge)

24 scientific reasons to be glad you’re alive right now

So what are they saying you should do, anyways? I know if you didn’t click on that link, you’re probably still curious. Well, let me just make it easier for you and give you that list.

 

1. Write out a list every night of the things that you’re grateful for

2. Try to share what made you happy on a given day with close friends and family

3. Surround yourself with the color blue (whaaaat?)

4. Fit meditation into your schedule

5. Spend your money on others

6. Devise a workout schedule, even if its only something quick

7. Make sure you’re living in the moment

8. Make sure to stay plenty hydrated

9. Get a good night’s rest

10.Treat yourself to time outside

11. Set yourself achievable goals

12. Try your best to smile

13. Listen to your favorite upbeat songs

14. Spend less time on Facebook

 

So there you have it, folks. Now, go be happy! But if you’re not ready to take on this happiness challenge without a little proof, maybe I can be that proof. And what better way to challenge these things than to be my own case study. It’s easy to read about other people becoming happier by making positive changes in their life, but to live the change yourself is something completely different. And so it began…my month long challenge to become a happier person
